Chronology
In the Indian Mutiny the 65th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry did not rebel and, in the ensuing disbandment of Bengal Army regiments, it became the tenth most senior.
- 1861 became 10th Bengal Native Infantry
- 1885 became 10th Bengal Infantry
- 1897 became 10th (Jat) Bengal Infantry
- 1901 became 10th Jat Infantry
- 1903 became 10th Jats
- 1922 became 3rd Battalion 9th Jat Regiment
- 1947 allocated to India on Partition. and became 3rd Battalion Jat Regiment.
