the Kulasekharapatnam Tissainvillai Light Railwaywas established linking the sugar growing area of Tissianvilai (modern day Tisaiyanvilai) to Kulasekharapatnam at extreme end southern tip of India. [1]

Unassisted private 2ft 6in/762mm narrow gauge(NG) line to the KPM Sugar factory and to Kulasekharapatnam Port. It first carried goods in 1915-16 [2]

The line was originally constructed for the sole use of the East Indian Distilleries and Sugar Factories Ltd of Madras; its mainenance and use for public use was authorised on 14 June 1914. [3]

The line was still operating in 1933 as indicated in Bradshaw's Guide Timetable for 1933. [4]
