Bangalore Battalion
The Bangalore Battalion were an auxiliary regiment.
Chronology
- 1868 raised as the Bangalore Rifle Volunteers on 31st November[1][2][3]
- 1884 some detached companies separated to form the Coorg and Mysore Rifle Corps on 21st November[4]
- 1903 one detachment separated to become the Kolar Gold Fields Rifle Volunteers on 23rd January[4]
- 1917 amalgamated with the Coorg and Mysore Rifles to become 6th Bangalore, Coorg and Mysore Battalion on 1st April[4]
- 1920 redesignated on 1st October as the Bangalore Battalion [4]
