The Rewari-Ferozepore Railway was under construction in 1881 with Hugh Lewin Monk of the Public Works Department Railways Branch as Engineer-in-Charge. [1]

Note: 'Ferozepore' is given as 'Firozpur' in some documents. We have adopted the spelling given in the "Imperial Gazetteer of India"

The line was absorbed into Rajputana-Malwa State Railway(RMSR) in 1881-82; together with a number of existing State Railways.

All these railways were worked by Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway(BB&CIR) State Railways.

In 1900 the jurisdiction of the portion of the Rewari-Ferozepore Railway lying within Jind State was ceded by the Raja of Jind State to the Government of India(GoI) [2]
