The Tarikere-Narasimharajapura Tramway was a 2ft/610mm narrow gauge(NG) line, completed in May 1917; owned and worked by the Mysore State Railway. The line linked Tarikere to Narasimharajapura, a length of 27 miles(42km) [1].

The tramway, with a length of 27 miles was reported still operational in 1948 [2].

Narasimharajapura had rail connectivity but had to lose the facility when the Bhadra reservoir project was taken up [3] between 1947 (start of construction) and 1965 (year of commissioning) [4].

The Tarikere-Narasimharajapura Tramway worked in conjunuction with the Tadassa-Hebbe Tramway , a 2ft/610mm narrow gauge(NG) line]], also owned and worked by Mysore State Railway; sanctioned for construction in August 1917 [1]; commissioned on February 5, 1921 and operated until 1949 [3] .
