Chronology

1st Raising

  • 1760 raised as the 105th Regiment of Foot (Queen's Own Royal regiment of Highlanders)
  • 1763 disbanded

2nd Raising

  • 1777 raised in Philadelphia as the Volunteers of Ireland
  • 1779 became the 2nd American Regiment (Volunteers of Ireland)
  • 1782 became the 105th Regiment of Foot
  • 1784 disbanded

3rd Raising

  • 1794 raised in Leeds as the 105th Regiment of Foot
  • 1795 disbanded
