Bordubi Road Tea Tramway System

'Bordubi Road Tea Tramway System' in the Dibrugarh District of Assam is the name we have selected that is identified from the maps of the area [1] which provides the following information:-

The extensive tramway system, with a length of 20 miles(32km), of unknown gauge, ran from both the east and west of the Dibru-Sadiya Railway metre gauge(MG) crossing it just south of the Bordubi station.

  • To the East the Tramway served:-
    • 'Naoholia Tea Garden'; owned by 'Dikhari Syndicate Ltd'
    • 'Tipling Tea Garden'; owner 'Unknown'
  • To the West the Tramway served:-
    • 'Hugrijan Tea Garden'; owned by 'Tingiri Tea Company'. At Hugrijan the line split North and South
  • To the North the Tramway served:-
    • 'Keyhing Tea Garden; owned by 'Tingiri Tea Company'
  • To the South the Tramway served:-
    • 'Balijan Tea Garden'; owned by 'Balojan Tea Co'
    • 'Hatigarh Tea Garden'; owner 'Unknown'
