The Villipuram-Kathpadi Extension Railway was an link line from the South Indian Railway metre gauge (MG) 'Madras-Tuticorin Mainline'.
The line from a Villipuram to Kathpadi, 99 miles(158km) opened in 1890 as far as Tiruvannamalai and to Kathpadi in 1891 [1].
