Golden Rock -Sircarpalayam Tramway
The Golden Rock -Sircarpalayam Tramway was a 2ft/610mm narrow gauge(NG) Tramway [1] from the South Indian Railway Central Workshops, Golden Rock at Trichinopoly to the village of Sircarpalayam, 3 miles(5km) to the north.
The function of the tramway is not known, possibly to carry personnel to the Workshops; neither is the date of opening or closure of the tramway. The evidence of the route of the tramway is clearly seen on Google Earth search ‘Sircarpalayam’.
