Major General Sir Henry Tombs VC KCB (1825–1874) was a soldier of the East India Company who was born in Calcutta and joined the Bengal Artillery in 1841. He was renowned for his bravery and leadership. He served in the Gwalior Campaign 1843, the Sutlej Campaign 1845-46 and the Punjab Campaign.
