"Hubli, a town of British India, in the Dharwar district of Bombay, 15 m[iles] S.E. of Dharwar town. Pop[ulation] (1901) 60,214. It is a railway junction on the Southern Mahratta system, where the lines to Bangalore and Bezwada branch off south and west."

Hubli, today also known as Hubballi, was home to the workshops of the Southern Mahratta Railway.
