The station at this town was on the Nowshera-Durgai Railway
Dargai is the spelling we have taken to be the definitive spelling of the town. It is the spelling used for the town name in the ‘Imperial Gazetteer of India’, ‘Map of Railways’ for 1909 [1] and Map1931 [2]. It is also used in the description in the 1908 ‘Imperial Gazetteer’ “the railway from Naushahra to Dargai.....” [3].
