- 1849 raised as the No 2 Horse Light Field Battery, Punjab Irregular Force at Dera Ghazi Khan from disbanded Sikh artillerymen following the 2nd Sikh War
- 1876 became the 2nd Derajat Mountain Battery
- 1903 became the 22nd Derajat Mountain Battery (Frontier Force)
- 1920 became the 22nd Derajat Pack Battery (Frontier Force)
- 1921 became the 102nd (Derajat) Pack Battery
- 1922 became the 102nd (Derajat) Pack Battery (Frontier Force)
- 1924 became part of the Royal Regiment of Artillery as the 102nd (Derajat) Pack Battery R.A. (F.F.)
- 1927 became the 2nd (Derajat) Indian Mountain Battery, R.A. (F.F.)
- 1928 became the 2nd (Derajat) Mountain Battery, R.A. (F.F.)
- 1939 became the 2nd Derajat Mountain Battery F.F.
- 1947 allocated to India
