Eastern Bengal Railway Battalion

The Eastern Bengal Railway Battalion were an auxiliary regiment under the Bengal command. They included staff of the Eastern Bengal Railway and Northern Bengal State Railway.
Chronology
- 1873 raised on 1st March as Eastern Bengal State Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps by GGO 223[1]
- 1882 became Eastern Bengal Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps when the Northern Bengal State Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps were amalgamated
- 1884 resumed original designation on the 21st November
- 1917 1st April became 12th Eastern Bengal Railway Battalion[2]
- 1920 redesignated Eastern Bengal Railway Battalion on 1st October[2]

- Badge - Tiger's head encircled by a laurel wreath and surmounted by a crown. Above the crown is a scroll with the motto inscribed and below is a scroll with "Eastern Bengal Railway Battalion" is inscribed
