Closely associated with the Mountain Batteries, being formed of veterans from these batteries ”past their prime on the hillside” [1]
Chronology
- 1851 raised as the Garrison Company, Punjab Irregular Force at Bannu by Lt S W Stokes from remnants of a Sikh detachment of artillery which had been broken up
- 1876 became the Frontier Garrison Artillery

- 1919 took part in the 3rd Afghan War[2]
