Ranavav is 9 miles (14km) east from Porbandar and a station on the ‘Porbandar State Railway’(PSR), this railway opened in 1888
In 1889 the short PSR ‘Quarry Branch’ line of 3.7 miles(6km) opened from Ranavav]to a quarry, location not known.
In 1898 the 'Porbandar (Ranavav) Tramway' was proposed. It did not proceed.
