The 1st Garrison Battalion Gordon Highlanders . Garrison battalions were made up of soldiers unfit for front line duty.
The 1st Garrison battalion was formed in 1916 in the UK for service in India and did not exist before that time. It was known as 12th Battalion for a short time.
