The Rajputana State Railway was formed by the joining of the Rajputana - Agra District Railway and the Rajputana - Delhi District Railway. The line was metre gauge(MG) and the initial construction started in 1873. Delhi was linked to Agra via Alwar and Bandikui in 1874.
