First published 1965 by Society for Army Historical Research in conjunction with the Army Museums Ogilby Trust, reprinted 1988 and 1992. The 1988 and 1992 editions are available at the British Library UIN: BLL01009540097 and UIN: BLL01012358760 respectively. For those with suitable University access, the 1965 and 1988 editions are available on the HathiTrust Digital Library. Also currently available in a reprint 1992 edition, which in turn is available online on the Ancestry owned pay website fold3.com, see [[British Army#Historical books online 2|Historical books online]] below. ====Regimental Journals====
Some regiments published a regular regimental journal which can be a valuable source of information. Examples are ''St George’s Gazette'', journal of the Northumberland Fusiliers,(previously [[5th Regiment of Foot]]) published from 1883 to 1968, and ''The Highland Light Infantry Chronicle'', journal of the Highland Light Infantry (previously [[71st Regiment of Foot]]), published quarterly from 1893 to 1958. Whether a journal existed may be included in the regimental information available on the website Regiments.org (refer below). For possible library sources, see [[British Army#Regimental histories|Regimental histories, above]]. A limited number of journals are available online, including a broken range of editions of [[The Rifle Brigade| ''The Rifle Brigade Chronicle'']] for the years 1890 to 1905 on Archive.org, and additional editions to 1920 on [[findmypast]], and a few editions of the [[71st Regiment of Foot|''Highland Light Infantry Chronicle'']].
