Porbandar (Ranavav) Tramway Proposal
In 1898 a tramway was proposed from Ranavav to Kandorpa in order to attract the Kutiana traffic to the ‘Porbandar Railway’ as this region of Porbandar was most productive and fertile [1].
This project did not proceed.
Notes
- Ranavav is 9 miles (14km) from Porbandar and a station on the ‘Porbandar State Railway’(PSR), this railway opened in 1888
- Kandorpa iand Kutiana stated above have not been located
- In 1889 the short PSR ‘Quarry Branch’ line of 3.7 miles(6km) opened from Ranavav to a quarry, location not known.
