- Cavalry Experiences and Leaves from My Journal by Colonel H A Ouvry 1892 Archive.org. The author arrived in India in late 1846 to join the 3rd Light Dragoons, where he took part in the 2nd Sikh War and remained with the regiment until they returned to England. C 1854, he could not afford to remain in England and exchanged into the 9th Lancers, arriving back at Umballa in 1855 (page 99) and took part in the Indian Mutiny. He returned to England in 1859.
