The Mari Indus Railway was constructed in the 1920's as part of North Western Railway(NWR) Northern Frontier narrow gauge network.
The line was a 2ft 6in/762mm narrow gauge(NG) connecting Mari Indus to Bannu with its branch to Tank [1] [2]
