The Kalpi Bridge was completed in 1888 crossing the River Yamuna at Kalpi. Also referred to the Yamuna Bridge in some records.
The opening of the bridge completed the Cawnpore-Kalpi-Jhansi Railway which had opened in 1886 by Indian Midland Railway(IMR) and enabled a direct link to Bombay [1]

- Hugh Lewin Monk, 1884 August, deployed from the Railway Branch of the Public Works Department to the Kalpi Bridge construction, having previously been with the Cawnpore-Kalpi Railway.
