  • 1858 raised as 4th Sikh Irregular Cavalry by Lieut John Watson VC
  • 1861 became 13th Bengal Cavalry
  • 1864 became 13th Bengal Cavalry (Lancers)
  • 1874 became 13th Bengal Lancers
  • 1884 became 13th (Duke of Connaught's) Bengal Lancers
  • 1903 became 13th Duke of Connaught's Own Lancers
  • 1906 became 13th Duke of Connaught's Own Lancers (Watson's Horse)
  • 1921 amalgamated with the 16th Cavalry to become 13/16th Cavalry
  • 1922 became 6th Duke of Connaught's Own Lancers
  • 1947 allocated to Pakistan on Partition
