It was part of the Guntur-Repalle Railway and was built and worked by the Madras and Southern Mahratta Railway(M&SMR). The line ran from Guntur to Repalle a length of 21 miles(34km) [1]
It was proposed in 1916 to extend the line from Repalle to Viseswaram, however the construction was postponed due to the war. [2]
