Chaman-Kandahar Railway
Chaman-Kandahar Railway
In 1926 a report was written concerning the building of a railway between Chaman and Kandahar in Afghanistan in the event of another war with Afghanistan. Chaman was the terminal of the 'Sind-Pishkin Section' of the broad gauge(BG) North Western Railway(NWR).
There were two proposals, neither of which were constructed [1]:-
- The first being a broad gauge(BG)
- The second being using the 'Light Portable Railway' 60 cm narrow gauge(NG) equipment that was in store at Chaman and Quetta. See separate page for additional information
