Thomas Willshire
General Sir Thomas Willshire Bart KCB (1789–1862) was a British soldier who went to India in 1822 as a brevet major in the 38th Regiment of Foot. He was made a major in the 46th Regiment of Foot and took part in the recapture of the fort during the Kittur Rising in 1824. In 1838 with the local rank of brigadier-general he commanded the Bombay brigade of the Army of the Indus for the Invasion of the HEIC Army. He was at the Storming of Ghazni and went on to Kabul. Returning he was in command for the Capture of Khelat. His brigade was then stationed in Poona from where he returned to England in 1840.
