• Khudadad Khan and Ghulam Haider of the 129th (Duke of Connaught's Own) Baluchis For his remarkable courage, at the village of Hollebeke, near Ypres in Belgium, Khudadad Khan was the first Indian soldier to be awarded the Victoria Cross.
