1758 formed by redesignation of 2nd Battalion, 11th Regiment of Foot
1782 renamed the 64th (2nd Staffordshire) Regiment of Foot
1881 combined with 98th Regiment of Foot to become the 1st Battalion, The Prince of Wales's (North Staffordshire) Regiment
1920 renamed The North Staffordshire (The Prince of Wales's) Regiment
1959 amalgamated to form The Staffordshire Regiment (The Prince of Wales's)
2007 amalgamated with the 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment and The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment to form The Mercian Regiment, in which the Staffords became the 3rd (Staffordshire) Battalion
