Chronology
- 1694 raised by Colonel Thomas Farrington with the name of the current colonel
- 1698 disbanded
- 1702 reformed
- 1751 Colonel Peregrine Hopton's Regiment became the 29th Regiment of Foot
- 1782 retitled as the 29th (Worcestershire) Regiment of Foot
- 1881 amalgamated with the 36th (Herefordshire) Regiment of Foot and became the 1st Battalion The Worcestershire Regiment
- 1970 amalgamated with The Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment) to become Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment
- 2004 amalgamated with the 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment and the Staffordshire Regiment to form the new Mercian Regiment
