Chronology

  • 1685 raised as the Princess Anne of Denmark's Regiment of Foot
  • 1702 became the Queen's Regiment of Foot
  • 1715 became the King's Regiment of Foot
  • 1751 became 8th (The King's) Regiment of Foot
  • 1881 became The King's (Liverpool Regiment)
  • 1921 became The King's Regiment (Liverpool)
  • 1958 amalgamated with the 1st Battalion, Manchester Regiment to become the King's Regiment (Manchester and Liverpool)
  • 2006 amalgamated with the King's Own Royal Border Regiment and the Queen's Lancashire Regiment to become the 2nd Battalion Duke of Lancaster's Regiment (King's Lancashire and Border)

The regiment was at Deesa in Gujarat on 20 July 1853.

The regiment, (1st Battalion) was at Landi Kotal in 1935.[1]
