Summary
News came of the uprising at Allygurh and the European women and children were escorted to Agra by the Assistant Magistrate, Mr J N Power. Three companies of the 9th BNI mutinied, plundered the treasury and carried off all the ammunition they could. Lieutenant De Kantzow bravely tried to dissuade them and barely escaped with his life.
