The Muttra Achnera Provincial State Railway opened in 1881 and worked by Rajputana State Railway(RSR).

In 1882 the RSR amalgamated into the Rajputana-Malwa State Railway(RMSR).

The RMSR was, in 1884, merged to form Cawnpore-Achnera Provincial State Railway, which was in turn absorbed into Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway(BB&CIR), in 1907.
