How to interpret this infobox

The Madras and Southern Mahratta Railway (MSMR) was formed in 1908 from the merger of the Madras Railway and the Southern Mahratta Railway. Owned by the Government of India (GoI), the running of the railway was handed back to the company of the same name.

History

The GoI took over direct control of the MSMR on 1 April 1944. On 14 April 1951, the MSMR, together with the South Indian Railway and the Mysore State Railway, became the Southern Railway of Indian Railways.
