The History of the 1st Battalion 14th Punjab Regiment Sherdil-Ki-Paltan Late XIX Punjabis by Lt.Col G.H.Thompson and others, originally published 1946 is available in a reprint edition,^[1] which in turn is available as an online book on the Ancestry owned pay website fold3 (located in World War II/Military Books/Britain, under letter T).

He initially served in the British Army with the 61st Regiment of Foot, with the 52nd (briefly), became on attachment, 2nd in command, and then in command, of the 7th Punjab Infantry, Bengal Army for approximately 20 months, during the Indian Mutiny, page 21.

From the date of the signature of the Armistice with Turkey to the date of the signature of the Turkish Peace Treaty (10th August 1020).
