1763 disbanded at Salisbury
1778 raised in London as the 85th (Westminster Volunteers) Regiment of Foot
1783 disbanded at Dover Castle
1793 raised as the 85th (Bucks Volunteers) Regiment of Foot
1808 became the 85th (Bucks Volunteers) (Light Infantry) Regiment
1815 became the 85th (Bucks Volunteers, Duke of York's Own Light Infantry) Regiment
1821 became the 85th (Bucks Volunteers) (The King's Light Infantry) Regiment
1881 combined with 53rd (Shropshire) Regiment of Foot to become The King's Light Infantry (Shropshire Regiment)
1921 became The King's Shropshire Light Infantry
1968 became the 3rd Battalion of The Light Infantry
