Charles Alexander Muirhead CIE (1888-1967). Son of Alexander Muirhead CIE (1859-1935)
Educated at Cheltenham College, England, and returned to India to join a Plantation business.

- South Indian Railway (SIR), date unknown, joined as Secretary to the Agent.
- South Indian Railway Battalion Officers, 1926 [1].
- SIR, date unknown, promoted to Deputy Agent.
- SIR, 1936, promoted to Agent on the retirement of Sir Percy Rothera.
- Indian Railway Conference Association , 1938 [2].
- SIR, 1940 Dec, awarded the Companion of the Indian Empire(CIE) for his services to the Railways in India.
- SIR, 1944, ordered to return to the UK to join the “Home Board” as a Director.
- South Indian Railway Company, 1944-?, Chairman and Managing Director of the Board.
- Pondicherry Railway Company, 1944-61, Chairman and Managing Director; 1961, the Formal Winding Up Resolution of the Pondicherry Railway Company signed by C A Muirhead as Chairman [3].
