Paikhel Quarry Railway

The Records show that the 'Paikhel Quarry' was owned by the North Western Railway(NWR) and used supply stone to the 'Kalabagh Barrage' whilst under construction between 1939 and 1942 on the Indus River by the Punjab Public Works Department(PWD) Irrigation Department [1].

The 'Paikhel Quarry' must have been connected to the NWR broad gauge(BG) system. The town is now named Pai Khel and is about 10 km south of the 'Kalabagh Barrage'

The date of opening, and the exact location, of the 'Paikhel Quarry' is not known. It seems probable that this Quarry was used during the original construction of the NWR 'Kundian Juction to Mari' section.

No further information has been found.
