The Tirupattur-Krishnagiri Railway was constructed by Madras Railway(MR) as a famine protection line, it opened in 1905.
The MR merged with Southern Mahratta Railway(SMR) to form the Madras and Southern Mahratta Railway(M&SMR) in 1908.
