The Bengal-Nagpur Railway broad gauge(BG) ‘Kalimati-Gorumahisani Extension Railway’ from Kalimati (later called Tatanagar Junction, 5km south of Jamshedpur) to Gorumahisani The line was 40 miles(64km) in length and opened in 1911 [1].

At Gorumahisani there was an interchange with the 2ft 6in/762mm narrow gauge(NG) ‘Gorumahisani Iron Mine Railway’ - see separate page for more information

The ‘Gurumaishini-Sini Railway Project’ was a proposal in 1906 for Messrs Tata and Sons to construct an Iron and Steelworks near Sini in Mourbhanj State to connect with the Bengal-Nagpur Railway(BNR) network at Gurumaishini. This proposal was not adopted, and the Steelworks was located at Jamshedpur - see separate page for more information on this project
