The Yelahaka-Bangarpet Railway was a 2ft 6in/762mm narrow gauge(NG) line owned by the Durbar Kolar and Mysore District Board and operated by Mysore State Railway(MSR.)

History

The section from Bangarpet to Chintamani to Chickballapur was opened in 1916; this line linked in Bangarpet to the Kolar Gold Fields Railway(17km) that the Mysore Durbar had opened in 1894+. The total length of the line was then 102km. [1]

The line was further extended in 1918 from Chickballapur to Yellankea and on to Bangalore (62km).[1]

The section from Yellankea to Bangalore was subsequently dismantled.[1]
