Field Marshal Sir George Pollock, 1st Baronet, GCB, GCSI, (1786-1872), was a British soldier who went to India in 1803 in the Bengal Artillery. He served under Gerard Lake in the 2nd Maratha War and as senior artillery officer in the Gurkha War. He commanded the artillery with distinction in the 1st Burma War. During the 1st Afghan War commanded the Army of Retribution which fought its way back to Kabul.
