This metre gauge(MG) line was originally owned by the Princely Mysore State and was a portion of the Guntakal to Bangalore connection. [1]
This railway also included the Yesvantpur Dod-Ballapur Section section - see separate page
The line opened in 1893 and had 9 stations and was worked by the Southern Mahratta Railway (SMR) .
