Saurashtra Railway

The Saurashtra Railway was formed in 1948 from the merger of the several smaller railways operating in the Gujerat peninsula viz

• the Bhavnagar State Railway(BSR),
• the Gondal Railway(GSR) with the Porbandar State Railway(PSR) that it had earlier absorbed,
• the Jamnagar and Dwarka Railway
• the Junagadh State Railway(JunSR),
• the Morvi Railway(MRWR)
• the Dhrangadra Railway
• the Okhamandal State Railway
• the Baria State Railway
• the Rajpipla Railway
• the Bhavnagar Tramway
• the Joravarnagar - Sayla Railway, built in 1948, closed October in 1987
